The best Teacher and lessons learn
There is so much that we can do for ourselves, and it only needs to be that we take one step at a time. When you notice that you are actually moving forward in your life it can be quite a shock. You can look back and see where you have come from and see where you are now. You can see there has been personal growth, change in attitude, you can love yourself and others more fully and get to that point of loving unconditionally. Not always easy to do.
That old saying ‘Life isn’t meant to be easy” is a matter of attitude. Even if things aren’t easy, you can still have FUN doing them. It is us, the you and me, that make it so difficult for ourselves! Let’s get out of the negative thinking patterns and discover the many and different ways that we can all enjoy this journey of Life together.

The Old Fart
“A very self-important college freshman attending a recent football game, took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.
“You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one”, the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear.
“The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon, our spaceships have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers with light-speed processing and …..”, pausing to take another drink of beer.
The senior took advantage of the break in the student’s litany and said,
“You’re right, son. We didn’t have those things when we were young …. so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little fart, what are you doing for the next generation?”
The applause was resounding.”
As I read through the above piece of writing which I received from a friend, who had printed it from an email, it put me to wondering……
What am I doing for the next generation?
From the above few sentences, it is this question which stands out for me.
I am now a middle fart,
who will be an old fart,
who can say in my future that same comment
to a young fart who judges that ‘their time’ is better than ‘my time’ on Mother Earth.
There has been big change over the decades, huge shifts – and not all of these inventions have been positive for the next and future generations ………. and yet we would not be here without the coming from there!
Take away ALL of these inventions, and would we survive in what is left of the natural and unadulterated parts of the world we have not touched? Is there anywhere on earth that has not been touched by progress and invention?
It is all well and good to be conscious of the state of Mother Earth as she is now, and to contribute my opinion when in discussion with others about climate change, drought, the state of the River Murray and all the other issues which I am concerned about. But, what am I actually doing so that I can say I have left Mother Earth in a better state than it was when I entered this plane?
We no longer live in synchronicity with the seasons and nature’s gifts of seeds, plants, trees. Our original food sources have been adulterated by genetic modification (GM) and desire for increasing productivity (greed) and on and on and on…………….
We as a world have lost touch with being in touch with Mother Earth.
There is hope, there is always hope, as many people are awakening and renewing connections with the Sacred Mother Earth.
Change, any change begins with me. And it begins with you.
So, what am I doing?
I am living my life with the awareness that my choices and actions NOW are going to affect my old fart and those arrogant new farts in the next generations.
I like my primitive life.
Hi Ros,
Beautiful words as usual and really has me thinking of what my ‘legacy’ will be and what I can do to influence the following generations.
Too much of my time on Mother Earth has gone into action without thinking of the consequences those actions bring, so as I wrote in one of my songs “unplug, unwind and you will find something better than this”
I look forward to catching up with you soon and blessings to you
Namaste
